Bucharest hosted the first edition of the ISCM-Romanian National Section Festival between 18 and 21 December 2005, entitled "ZILELE SNR-SIMC" (1st "Days of the Romanian Section of ISCM").

This festival was made possible by a collaboration between the Romanian Ministry for Culture, the Romanian Composers" and Musicologists" Union, the Romanian Section of ISCM, alongside the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Society, the Radio România Muzical "George Enescu" station, the National Music University of Bucharest and the "Tinerimea Româna" National Art Center.

Media coverage was provided by the "TVR Cultural" Station, SENSO TV, the "Actualitatea Muzicala" (newspaper), Contemporary Music-Romanian Newsletter (published in English under the aegis of the ISCM-Romanian Section and the Information Center for Contemporary Music).

The festival's activities included the launch of a book and a compact disc, a workshop, concerts by accomplished Romanian contemporary music ensembles, such as TRAIECT, ARCHAEUS, GAME and the artistic debut on stage for the "devotioModerna" ensemble. Renowned French sax player Daniel Kientzy was the Festival's special guest. The "Alfred Alessandrescu" studio of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Society, the "George Enescu" hall at the National Music University of Bucharest and the "Tinerimea Româna" National Art Center were the venues were Romanian works have been on display, alongside others originating in Switzerland, France, Portugal, Bulgaria, Ukraine, South Korea, many of them heard for the first time ever or on their first audition in Romania.
The Romanian Section of the International Society for Contemporary Music, founded in 1925, gathers resounding composers' and musicologists' personalities across all generations, while aiming to promote Romanian music and its dialogue with other musical cultures.
