REGULATIONS

 

competition

1.   The competition is open to composers of all ages and nationalities.

2.   More than one score per composer is permitted.

3.   All works submitted must be unpublished and must not have been performed. Works that have won another award are ineligible.

4.   The organisers of the Competition  reserve their rights to the first performance of awarded compositions.

 

genre

1.      Only compositions for chamber ensemble, with using from 3 to 5 instruments (given  below), without conductor, with possibly tape allowed, will be considered.

2.      Instruments: 1 flute, 1 oboe, 1 clarinet, percussion (1 performer), 1 piano, 2 violins, 1 viola, 1 cello.

3.      Use live electronics is not permitted.

4.      Duration: from 10 to 16 minutes.

prize winners’ concert

1.       The awarded compositions will be performed at the 26th October 2008 in Lutoslawski Polish Radio Concert Hall, at a special concert organised by the ISCM Polish Section, European Penderecki Centre for Music and Polish Radio Channel 2. The concert will be broadcast live and offered to all members of the European Broadcasting Union.

2.      The composer of the awarded work must provide all the performance materials at their own expense for a single performance.

1.   The score should be submitted anonymously and marked with an emblem.

2.   In case of using tape: part of tape should be submitted on CD (as WAV files; maximum 5 channels (system 5.1); maximum 48 kHz/24 bit). Stereo version of tape should be submitted on a separated audio CD.

3. Sealed envelope marked with the same emblem should be attached together with the following data:

 

a) composer’s full name,

b) date and place of birth,

c) nationality,

d) address, telephone, e-mail address or fax,

e) title and time of duration of the composition,

f) any comment about composition in Polish or English language.

4. The deadline for submission of scores is August 25th, 2008. The postmark is decisive.

1.      Entry fee for participants is 40 Euro for each score.

2.      The amount should be transferred by bank (bank charges are the responsibility of a sender) to the following account:

3.      The payment receipt must be enclosed with the submitted score.

4.      Cheques will not be accepted.

5.      The entry fee is not refundable

 

final DECISIONS

1.   Entry in the Competition is synonymous with acceptance of the Rules.

2.   Compositions not meeting the requirements stated in the above Rules will not be admitted to the Competition.

3.   Contentious cases will be resolved based on the Polish version of the Rules of the Competition.

4.    The submitted scores will be returned only if this is expressly requested and the cost of postage has been paid.
